Alcohol Bonded Warehouse

In 1986, Internacional de Alcoholes, S.A. was founded as an independent alcohol bonded warehouse with the principal objective of carrying out the activities of the purchase and sale of alcohols and derivative beverages thereof, as well as the storage, handling and processing of such products.

Alcohol bonded warehouses are facilities authorised by the Taxation Authority to store and handle alcoholic beverages under fiscal control. These establishments are managed by companies engaged in the importation, exportation and distribution of alcoholic beverages, and are subject to strict regulations and controls to ensure compliance with tax obligations.

Among the functions of alcohol bonded warehouses are the storage of alcoholic beverages that have not yet been subject to taxation, the reception and shipment of goods under customs control, the drawing up of tax documents and the undertaking of the processing and manufacturing operations of alcoholic beverages.

It is worth highlighting the relevance of the alcohol bonded warehouses in the countries with the largest production of alcoholic beverages and with a major importation and exportation activity of these beverages, as is the case of Spain, given the fact that it enables a more efficient management of these beverages and a greater fiscal and customs control, and as a result contributing to the prevention of smuggling and tax fraud.

This type of alcohol is widely used in the alcoholic beverage industry due to its high purity and its ability to absorb and retain flavours and aromas added during the production of alcoholic beverages process.

Brandy

  • Alcohol content : 55.00 – 69.00 % vol.

  • Brandy is a type of eau-de-vie made from the distillation of wine and aged in wooden barrels. Unlike other eau-de-vies, brandy is distilled at a relatively low alcohol content, between 60% and 72%, enabling the spirit to retain some of the characteristic aromas and flavours of the original wine. After distillation, brandy undergoes a process of aging in wooden casks, which imbues its characteristic flavour and mellows the alcohol. Brandy is a high quality alcoholic beverage that is consumed mainly as a digestif, and can also be used as an ingredient in the preparation of other alcoholic beverages.
